Tag 6 – Day 6

After spending the night in Cache Creek, we continued towards Kamloops. The area here is totally different from the Pacific Coast.

Das ist der See beim Ort Savona. This is the lake near Savona.

On the way there was a very nice rest area with great views of Kamloops Lake.

;) Here is the proof that cacti also grow in Canada.

In Kamloops, the largest town in this area, we did a few more errands. Here’s a look back.

In Canada we saw a lot of these super long trains. They are often pulled by two locomotives, with a third one in the middle and another one at the end of the train that pushes.

On the way we followed a hint to a lake access. It was an idyllic little lake, the picnic area was great and apart from us there was only one family with a child on site.

We had booked the next night in Sycamous on Lake Shuswap. The lake looks something like the letter H, so it has 4 arms. Sycamous is also called the houseboat capital of Canada. We stayed here at the Super 8. A few meters further was the very good Moose Mulligans Marine Pub, which had excellent food. We sat on the terrace with a view of the houseboat harbor and ended the day here with a few beers.

One of those long trains that had escorted us all over BC passed over a railway bridge nearby. The containers even stood on top of each other.
