Tag 4 – Tag 4

After spending the night at the Capital City Center Hotel in Victoria, the next morning we went to the next ferry passage from Swartz Bay to Tsawassen / Vancouver. When we saw the long line of cars, we couldn’t imagine that we could get on the ferry. But we were wrong.

Wieder ging es vorbei an zahlreichen Inseln.

Again we passed numerous islands.

Later we drove through downtown Vancouver and looked for a parking space, which wasn’t that easy. We ended up in the car park for customers of the cruise ships. We then looked around at Canada Place, where a large Dutch crusader was anchored.

From here you also had a good view of North Vancouver.

Since we had booked an overnight stay in North Vancouver and the motel is not far from the Lions Gate Bridge, we had a look at the famous Stanley Park beforehand. This is also where the bridge goes over to North Vancouver. Stanley Park is one of the largest urban parks in North America.

From here you have beautiful views of the Vancouver skyline.

:daumen1:

There is also a collection of totem poles here that I really like. There is something about the Indian art of the First Nation!

Sorry for the many totems … but I just like them! At another vantage point you could see Canada Place and watch the seaplanes take off. They literally flew around our ears.

Auch andere Flieger sind hier gestartet. :)  Other planes also took off here.

I waited here until I saw a large ship and a plane.

A beautiful day was drawing to a close.

We then struggled to find the bridge ramp of the Lions Gate Bridge, but finally arrived in North Vancouver. We got the Grouse Inn through Priceline. It looked pretty good on the internet too, but it was the only motel on the whole trip that we didn’t like. The room was pretty shabby and didn’t smell very good either. Maybe it was just our room that was bad. In the pizzeria belonging to the motel we paid over $ 60 for 2 small pizzas and 4 bottles of beer, including a tip. Beer is generally quite expensive in Canada. At later dinners we used a whole pitcher, which ended up being cheaper!
