Der Dubai Creek ist ein ca 14 km langer Meeresarm des Persischen Golfes, der die beiden Stadtteile von Dubais Altstadt, Bur Dubai und Deira, trennt.
Zur Stadtrundfahrt gehörte eine einstündige Rundfahrt mit einer Dhau. Hier konnte man sehr deutlich sehen, wie das alte Dubai auf das moderne trifft.
The Dubai Creek is an approx. 14 km long arm of the Persian Gulf that separates the two districts of Dubai’s old town, Bur Dubai and Deira. The city tour included a one-hour tour in a dhow. Here you could see very clearly how old Dubai meets modern.
Hier gibt es Unmengen von Wassertaxis, den so genannten Abras.
Hiermit kann man für kleines Geld (1 Dirham= ca. 25 Cent) den Creek überqueren und ist damit schneller, als mit dem Auto über die verstopften Brücken und Straßen.
There are tons of water taxis, the so-called Abras. With this you can cross the creek for little money (1 dirham = approx. 25 cents) and is faster than driving over the clogged bridges and roads.
Witzig finde ich, dass der Fahrer in der Mitte in einem Loch steht und die Fahrgäste rund herum sitzen. 
I think it’s funny that the driver stands in a hole in the middle and the passengers sit around.
Der Creek ist auch ein Handelshafen. Es wird mit teilweise uralten Dhaus, Handel mit zahlreichen Ländern, wie z.B. Iran, Oman und den anderen Emiraten betrieben.
The creek is also a trading port. It is with partly ancient dhows, trade with numerous countries, e.g. Iran, Oman and the other emirates operated.
Das alte Dubai gefällt mir eigentlich besser als das Neue. I actually like the old Dubai better than the new one.
Auch am Creek gibt es zahlreiche neue Gebäude. There are also numerous new buildings on the creek.
Fazit: Die erste Route der Stadtrundfahrt war ok, aber man hat doch sehr viel Zeit durch die häufigen Staus und sehr langen Rotphasen der Ampeln verloren.
Die Creek Tour mit der Dhau war sehr interessant und bei der Hitze auch ein bisschen erfrischend.
Conclusion: The first route of the city tour was ok, but you lost a lot of time due to the frequent traffic jams and the very long red phases of the traffic lights. The creek tour with the dhow was very interesting and a bit refreshing in the heat.
