Dubai once again

Am Abend holten uns Tochter und Freund am Hotel ab und wir fuhren zum Burj Khalifa. Zu unserer Anwesenheit war in Dunai eine Aktion genannt Round Table, bei der man in Top Restaurants verbilligte 3-Gänge Menüs erwerben konnte. Die Beiden hatten das Asado vorgebucht, das zum Palace Downtown – The Address Hotel gehört. Die 199 AED waren sicherlich kein richtiges Schnäppchen, dafür war das Essen aber ausgezeichnet und die Lage einfach nur toll. Man konnte von unserem Tisch aus einen Teil der Wasserspiele und den Burj Khalifa in voller Größe bewundern. klick

In the evening our daughter and friend picked us up at the hotel and we drove to the Burj Khalifa. When we were there, there was an action in Dunai called the Round Table, where you could buy cheaper 3-course menus in top restaurants. The two had pre-booked the Asado, which belongs to the Palace Downtown – The Address Hotel. The AED 199 was certainly not a real bargain, but the food was excellent and the location just great. You could admire part of the water features and the Burj Khalifa in full size from our table.

Den Souk Al Bahar mussten wir auf dem Weg zum Asado durchqueren.

Halbstündlich findet eine Lightshow auf dem Burj Khalifa statt. In irrem Tempo laufen die Farben von unten nach oben, oder umgekehrt. Schwierig zu fotografieren. Außerdem habe ich ohne Stativ genippst. ;)










Every half hour there is a light show on the Burj Khalifa. The colors run at a mad pace from bottom to top, or vice versa. Difficult to photograph. I also sipped without a tripod.












Emaar ist wohl die Firma, die das ganze Viertel gebaut hat. Man sieht die Leuchtschrift auf vielen Gebäuden.


Nach dem Essen sind wir noch ein bisschen um den See gelaufen und haben uns die Fountains angeschaut.










Emaar is arguably the company that built the whole neighborhood. You can see the neon letters on many buildings. After dinner we walked around the lake a bit and looked at the fountains.
